There are some things you expect to find while cleaning a client’s bathroom—soap residue, water spots, hair, maybe a forgotten shampoo bottle.

A tiny tree frog was definitely not on my list. 😂

I was cleaning a bathtub when I noticed what I thought was just a little squishy something sitting in the tub. Without thinking much about it, I reached down and picked it up.

Then its leg moved.

That definitely got my attention!

I looked a little closer and realized I was holding the cutest little tree frog. Somehow, this tiny guy had made his way into the house and ended up hanging out in the bathtub.

An Unexpected Cleaning Assistant

Once I realized what I had found, cleaning stopped for a minute.

Of course, I had to take a few pictures because he was just too cute not to. He seemed perfectly content being held, although I’m pretty sure neither one of us expected our day to go quite like this.

I even sent the homeowner a picture of their unexpected little visitor.

But as adorable as he was, a bathtub wasn’t where he belonged.

Back Where He Belongs

After our very brief photoshoot, I carried him outside and found a safe spot for him in the garden area. I placed him on a tree where he could get back to doing whatever tiny tree frogs do when they’re not sneaking into people’s bathrooms.

And yes—I may have looked around for him again afterward. 🐸

It’s little moments like this that make every cleaning day different. I can walk into a home expecting an ordinary day of dusting, scrubbing, vacuuming and mopping, and somehow end up on a tiny wildlife rescue mission.

You Never Know What the Day Will Bring

Running a cleaning business has given me plenty of stories over the years. Some are challenging, some are satisfying, and every once in a while, one is just ridiculously cute.

This one was definitely the latter.

So, to my tiny surprise bathtub guest: thanks for making my workday a little more interesting.

And next time, maybe stick to the garden. 🐸🌿
